Services for Physicians and Providers
As a healthcare provider, we always want what is best for the patient. There are several factors that go into determining the best option available for them and options for hearing loss can seem murky at times. Journey Audiology is here to be a resource for you so that you can help your patients make the best decision for their individual needs.
Dr. Rachel Allgor is an audiologist, a person with hearing loss who wears a hearing aid daily, and an advocate for the profession. She has served on the board of the Minnesota Academy of Audiology since 2018 and is the current President, term years 2023-2024.
Better than Big-Box
Most “Big-Box” and retail hearing aid stores employ a hearing instrument specialist instead of an audiologist, a choice that can negatively impact the care your patients receive. Working with an audiologist offers your patients a more detailed level of care through additional provider understanding and education to better help patients with ear care, tinnitus, hearing aids, and diagnostics.
At Journey Audiology, we strive to provide patients with the highest level of care, in accordance with our doctoral degree. Real-Ear Measures (REM) are the gold standard for hearing aid fittings, and even knowing that, the research shows that only a third of providers are using it routinely with patients. It is our promise that every hearing aid fitting uses REM to ensure that your patients are hearing their absolute best.
In-Network Insurance
We are diligently working to increase the number of in-network carriers we work with and have taken steps to help patients with those carriers in other ways.
Journey Audiology is currently credentialed with:
- HealthPartners
- Medicare
- NationsHearing
- UnitedHealthcare
- TruHearing benefits
- VA Community Care (requires authorization from the VA)
Pending carriers include:
- Aetna
- BlueCrossBlueShield
- Medica
- PreferredOne
Personalization for You
Because Journey Audiology is an independently owned private practice, we are able to personalize treatment for patients along with reports for providers. We know the importance of interprofessional collaboration and referring appropriately. If you have a preferred style of reporting, we can tailor our writing to meet your needs.
