The Process

What makes Journey Audiology different from other audiology practices?

Journey Audiology is committed to providing personalized care to each patient. There is no “one-size-fits-all” hearing loss treatment and we come to the table ready to work with you to find your best solution.

We also are able to offer mobile services to those who have a hard time moving around or don’t have access to transportation.

What types of hearing aids does Journey Audiology offer?

Journey Audiology offers a variety of hearing aid styles and brands, including behind-the-ear, receiver-in-the-ear, custom devices, and invisible-in-canal options. We work with all the major manufacturers which include Resound, Oticon, Starkey, Phonak, Unitron, Signia, and Widex. Our audiologist will work with you to select the best hearing aid for your lifestyle and budget.

What does a hearing evaluation involve?

A hearing evaluation at Journey Audiology typically involves a series of tests to evaluate your hearing function. These tests include a pure-tone audiometry test, speech recognition tests, speech-in-noise testing, and possible middle ear testing. Based on the results of these tests, we will recommend appropriate treatment and/or referral options.

What are some signs of hearing loss?

Some common signs of hearing loss include difficulty understanding speech, asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the volume on the TV or radio, and avoiding social situations because of hearing difficulties. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, schedule a hearing evaluation with Journey Audiology.

Mobile Servies

How do your mobile services work?

The mobile audiology services are very similar to those that you would receive in any hearing clinic office. Dr. Rachel will talk with you first over the phone (or email if that is preferred) to discuss your specific concerns surrounding your hearing and will make a plan with you about what next steps can be taken. Most likely it will be a hearing test to determine hearing aid candidacy. The testing and hearing aid fitting are all performed in the comfort of your own home using calibrated equipment to ensure that you are receiving the best care possible.

Do I still need in-office visits if I do concierge hearing care?

While many follow-up appointments and hearing aid adjustments can be completed remotely, some services—such as hearing evaluations, ear examinations, or new hearing aid fittings—are best performed in person. We’ll help you determine which visits can be handled remotely.
